The Great War
Erdonia was once a peaceful land where all people lived in cordial peace, protected and governed by a group of powerful mages of all races known as The Keepers. The Keepers were the most powerful mages in history, wielding an unknown power that set them apart from all others under their protection and all who wished to bring harm to the people of Erdonia. The Keepers watched over and protected the world of Erdonia from a city built within the clouds, Fontaine, allowing them to see and protect all below.
That is until the 🪦 Elf King Irgo was able to find a power that allowed him to dwarf the Keepers, and he declared war on the world, empowering his armies with his newfound magics, and all hell broke loose within the world of Erdonia. This war ravaged Erdonia for years, the forces of the Elf King trampling all whom opposed them, while the Keepers attempted to keep them at bay, however this was all for naught. Eventually the Keepers were overwhelmed and the city of Fontaine and the power of the Keepers disappeared, allowing the Elf King to solidify his rule as the strongest of all, and this is where the downfall of Erdonia began.
The King and his armies spent years rounding up all survivors not of the Elves and building Slave Cities to imprison them within, forcing all whom were deemed lesser races to work as Slaves, doing the bidding of the Elf King, collecting resources, materials, and even being forced to adventure out in search of artifacts for the kings treasury. All who refused were executed publicly to enforce their rule of fear even further over these races. Eventually Irgo grew old, the power of his artifact unable to keep him alive any longer, and so a succession ceremony was created within the elven hierarchy. A right of passage where the new king (👑 Litch King Gahlland Endmere) would be crowned every 100 years, the power passed down, and the order of The Graven Purge, where the races trapped within the walls of these slave cities would be whittled down to prevent hope of one day overthrowing the rule of the great Elven Kingdom.
